BIO
“Tat the Musician” is an award-winning musician residing in the U.S.A, a member of the American Federation of Musicians/Boston Musicians' Association, bandleader XTY Jazz Group.
Tat who is originally from Japan, top graduated in performance from Berklee College of Music on a scholarship - Magna Cum Laude, where he was also a staff member, featured alumni on Berklee's magazine “Berklee Today.” He plays and teaches piano, keys, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, drums, percussion, etc. As a member of the American Federation of Musicians/Boston Musicians' Association, he enjoys collaborating with the world-class musicians in this organization, has been recognized as a spectacular drummer, and is a recipient of the Zildjian Award (www.zildjian.com).
His XTY Jazz Group “X, Tat Yoshinaga” performs at Boston’s first-class venues and major co-events. Featured artist by All About Jazz (www.allaboutjazz.com). The group recently performed live jazz at Eat Your Words event - 826 Boston at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. His charitable work includes a performance at the House of Blues for “Friends of Boston’s Homeless” raised $150,000.
Performed/worked with; Grammy-award artists including Joe Lovano (sax), Dave Samuels (vibes/marimba), and Jay Frigoletto (engineer). While at Berklee; Mike Mangini (drums - Dream Theater), Dean Anderson (percussion - Boston Pops), Peter Cokkinias (conductor/director - Boston Pops/Ballet), Fenway Brass Orchestra, Berklee’s Wind Orchestra/Symphony Orchestra. As a Berklee staff accompanist; Singers Showcases, Percussion Week, Sax-weekend, Guitar Sessions, 5 Week Summer Program. Books/magazines; Shinko Music Entertainment Co., LTD.
